Background:
I had the unfortunate fate of having monolids. Given this, I always have a hard time applying eyeliner that would show up and not look 5 inches thick when I close my eyes. So when I found out about the world of double eyelid tape, I was intrigued. I did a lot of research and read about many people’s experience with using this technique. The pros are getting the double eyelid and making your eyes appear larger. The cons to this is getting droopy eyelids in the long run. But there was a way to avoid the droopiness; you just have to be really careful with removing the tape after using it. So I started the hunt of looking for double eyelid tape, I bought all sorts of brands and sizes. The key is to picking the size that looks most natural when you have it applied.
The Experience:
This particular double eyelid tape that I have tried out has been the easiest and most natural looking one that I have used. Applying the tape takes a little bit of practice to perfect; I still haven’t gotten the hang of it. The process of putting it on may seem a little intimidating and scary at first, but it is not bad at all. If you can curl your lashes, you could do this! What I have learned through my research is being able to get permanent crease on your lid if you use it everyday for a certain amount of time. I tried to commit myself to applying it everyday to get that crease that I always wanted but it is hard to get the same shape every time I apply it. So that got me little on the edge since I don’t want to end up with having uneven eyelids.

The “Science”:
It is pretty hard to explain how the tape works but I will try my best and not confuse anyone. (The pictures might help!) The tape has two sticky side to it. The package comes with a stick to hold the tape on so your fingers don’t take away from the stickiness. Using the stick to get the tape, I get the tape aligned a little bit above my lash line and place it on the skin. Then still using the same stick, I push the bit of skin above the tape for the other side of the tape to stick on to the mid part of my skin. And voila, I have double eyelids.

Final Thoughts:
The idea of getting double eyelid with this method as opposed to getting surgery is very appealing to me. But the thought of potentially getting droopy eyelid or uneven eyelid gives me second thoughts. I am open to trying different brands and methods to obtaining double eyelids. There are many other brands that I still want to try out and when I do, I’ll make sure to share the best ones. I also gave double eyelid glue a try so if you guys want to know my thoughts on that, let me know!
