Beauty Log #4: MAC Eyeshadow X15: Warm Neutral

12:00 AM | J × K | 0 Comments

Brand: MAC
Size: .68 oz / 19.5 g
Price: $85 USD

After many releases of different popular eyeshadow palettes, it was only a matter of time when MAC releases its own permanent eyeshadow palette line. The palette comes in 15 different warm neutrals. Despite owning several warm and neutral palettes, I had to get my hands on this beautiful palette.

MAC released two neutral palettes, one cool toned and one warm toned, which I own. The colors are absolutely beautiful and glorious. Looking at the colors alone, I fell victim to its beauty. Goodbye $85.00, come to mama. The price hit the last nail of my coffin… $85 was a steal!!! Buying 15 refills alone would be $150, not to mention, you’d have to purchase the empty palette as well.

I have never bought any MAC eyeshadows (please don’t kill me) but I have used them before. The single eyeshadow pans are so expensive ($16 USD a piece)! I thought the lipsticks were much more worth buying. Having these shadows as almost a first impressions of MAC eyeshadows is a blessing. The texture is so silky, and the colors are opaque. Compared to some palettes I’ve used before, the eyeshadows have minimal fallout.

Final Thoughts:
I use it for my everyday makeup, dates, special events, everything from A-Z. If I had a do-over would I repurchase? YES, now run along and get yourself one!!!  Comment down below for different looks :)

Beauty Log #3: Laneige BB Cushion

5:37 PM | J × K | 0 Comments

The Product:
Laneige BB Cushion
Size: 1.05 Oz / 30g (15g per cushion)
Shade: Light
Skin Type: For all skin
Background:
All of the skin products that I used for coverage has always been a BB or CC cream. I rarely do use a foundation for my everyday makeup routine. I just need something that provided protection from the sun and cover up some of my blemishes. The very first BB cream I used was from Lovely ME:EX that I got from The Face Shop. It was an easy product to use and gave me the coverage I needed. After finishing out that one, I tried a BB cream from Face it and a CC cream also from Face it. I finished out those products and finally got my hands on the Laneige BB Cushion; I got mine at a local target for $34.

Experience:
At first, I was a little skeptical about using the puff because I am used to just using my hands to apply my products. It is just faster that way and it saves me from having to wash a brush. I felt like using the puff took a bit of time because I had to keep patting it to blend and even out the product. But after a few times of using the puff, it got easier and faster. What I love about this product is that the SPF is 50. So the sun protection is great and the coverage is awesome.

The “Science”:
The way you apply this product is different from others. What is in the compact is a cushion that has been soaked and absorbed with the product. The way you use this product is taking the puff and pushing it against the cushion to get the bb cream onto the puff. From there, you apply to your face. When I first put it on my face, it has this cooling effect to it; which I thought was pretty cool. I also get a glowing effect to my face after everything sets.

Final Thought:

This could seem like it is on the pricey side if you are looking for something that is budget friendly. But if you think about it, you are paying for two cushion. There is already one in the compact and one refill in the box. The bonus to the price is a new applicator puff is also provided. So essentially you are paying around $17 per cushion. Not bad right? I have been really loving this BB cream for what it does. This will be something I will be repurchasing until they stop making it. (Which I hope they don’t!)
