Beauty Log #2: Style Pop Pudding Tints

Product: Style Pop Pudding Tint (3) & Style Pop Juice Tint (1)
Brand: Aritaum
Size: 8 mL
Price: $~8 USD
Availability: Beautynetkorea.com

One of the reasons why I was drawn to the Pop Pudding Tints were the texture. I’ve tried other different Korean lip tints before but all of them were more on the watery side. I’ve never been a fan of sticky lip products so I try to stay away from glossy lipsticks and shiny lip glosses, it can’t be just me right?

I’ve seen the Benefit Benetints before and I have also tried them in Sephora. The colors are very flattering on my lips but not for my wallet. The Benetints retail for about $30 USD (OMG). I was hoping that these tints would be dupes for the Benetints.

The Aritaum Style Pop Pudding Tints come in 4 different colors: Polka Pink, Swing Coral, Tango Red, and Lolli Pop. I purchased all of the colors but the Tango Red because most of the lip tints I own are red. Compared to the Etude House Cherry Tints, the color payoff is not as beautiful. The colors of the bottle are the literal colors of the product. I also have to apply several times in order for the color to show up.
The texture of these tints are similar to that of the Etude House Cherry Tints. While the texture is unique compared to many other Korean tints, the lasting power is not very great. I find myself checking in the mirror every 20 - 30 minutes to see whether or not the color on the lips are still there. After two sips of water, the color will disappear.

Now let’s get to the positive part of the review haha. Although the lasting power is not good, I don’t feel uneasy when quickly applying in the morning without a mirror. The doe tip certainly helps with the quick application. I find that the longer lasting the lip product, the more hesitant I am to quickly apply the product. I love using this product as a lip base for my lipsticks. The tints give a more vibrant look and keeps my lip color on much longer. The applicator and texture gives a quick and easy application.

On the other hand, the Benefit Benetint compliments my skin much more than the Cherry Rose Pop Tint. The consistency is the same and the lasting power is a bit better than the Aritaum Pop Tint. Although the Benetint is absolutely gorgeous, I would not repurchase it because of its price ($30 USD). I believe there are other brands that can give more bang for my buck.

Final Thoughts:
I would not repurchase the Aritaum Style Pop Pudding nor the Aritaum Style Pop Tint products. For the price, I would purchase a more long lasting lip tint. If you want the very natural look, these products will probably be for you. I will continue to hunt for the perfect lip tint after finishing these off.

Beauty Log #1: Dr. Mascara Fixer

6:37 PM | J × K | 0 Comments

The Product:
Etude House Dr. Mascara Fixer for Perfect Lashes #01
Size: 0.20 fl. oz.
Lash Type: For any lashes that need extra ‘umph’

Background:
My lashes are really hard to work with. I have gone through many mascara bottles to see which one will work for me and nothing has satisfied me. The mascara will either get clumpy, won’t keep my curl, or do nothing at all. It took me a really long time to find a mascara that will be perfect for me because my monolids usually push down on my lashes. But then Kim showed me this product and I was excited to try it out.
Experience:
So Kim gave me the Dr.Mascara Fixer as one of my birthday gifts and I was stoked to try it out. After curling my lashes, I coat my lashes with the fixer and then repeat on the other side. I then used my Stila waterproof mascara and I was surprised to see how pretty my lashes looked. I was keeping my fingers crossed that this will last the whole day. And as hoped, it stayed curled the whole day. I did the same process for about two months and I decided to switch up the mascara to see if it would work the same. Last week, I started to use make-up forever mascara that I got in my birthday gift from Sephora. This was a regular mascara and not waterproof like the previous one. I was ecstatic to see the same results and also longer lashes due to the mascara.
The “Science”
I would describe this as a thin primer that preps your lashes for mascara. My lashes are very thin so when I apply this, it gives a bit of volume and separation. With that coat on, applying a mascara is like ‘sealing the deal’. Think of the fixer being the base and the mascara being the concrete. If you have thin and brittle base then the concrete won’t be stable. Also there are infused black food extract that will condition your lashes.
Final Opinion:
For so long I have been looking for a mascara that would be perfect for my lashes but I think the problem was the step before mascara. Since my lashes were so thin, putting mascara directly on my lashes will cause it to clump because I would have to put on so many coats. But with this fixer, it  was able to keep my lashes curled and give it volume. It adds an extra step, but it is a step worth doing. I would definitely repurchase this product for as long as they make them and I hope they never stop making this cause my lashes are gonna suffer.

Quick Tip: After applying Dr. Mascara Fixer, wait five minutes before putting on mascara. This will help the curl last all day.
